This show centers on Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat, the gender-flipped counterparts of Finn and Jake. Simon Petrikov, a character who spent the most of Adventure Time as the Ice King, also appears in the show. The characters in Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake traverse the multiverse while being pursued by “a powerful new antagonist” who is “determined to track them down and erase them from existence.

The show follows Fionna the Human, a gender-swapped version of Finn, and Cake the Cat, a gender-swapped version of Jake the Dog. The duo go on various adventures with Simon Petrikov, a character known as the Ice King, throughout most of the original Adventure Time series.
The voice cast includes Madeleine Martin as Fionna and Roz Ryan as Cake. Other cast members include Tom Kenny as Simon Petrikov, Dee Bradley Baker as Ratbus, Erica Mendez and Cristina Valenzuela as Skater Fairies, Vico Ortez as Hunter/Fern, Pendleton Ward as Ellis P, Jeremy Shada as Finn the Human, and Chelsea Peretti as Queenie.

New episodes of the show typically come out every Thursday.
The first two episodes are currently available to watch on Max. New episodes will air in pairs between September 7, 2023, and September 28, 2023.
